A fire alarm system is a key element of a building or structure, ensuring the timely identification of the source of fire or smoke, alerting residents or personnel, facilitating their evacuation from the affected area, calling fire brigades, and activating automatic extinguishing systems.
As is well known, fire alarm systems are an essential part of all safety systems. Typically, in approximately eighty percent of accidental fires, which ended either tragically or with serious damage, the premises did not have a fire control system installed.
Installation is carried out based on a developed and approved project plan, taking into account the main parameters of the building or structure, its structural features and purpose, as well as the fire safety regulations of Ukraine. The optimal scenario is when a single company handles both the design and installation of the system, along with subsequent warranty and post-warranty maintenance — this allows the client to avoid many coordination issues during installation and commissioning.
The installation of a fire alarm system includes the following stages:
- procurement and delivery of the system’s technical components to the site according to the project plan;
- laying channels made of special non-combustible materials for the passage of cables in wired alarm systems;
- installation of sensors and control devices, alarms, power elements, transmitters, and other end devices;
- synchronization of the fire alarm system with other technical building systems — elevator, ventilation, access control, and others;
- installation of specialized software;
- commissioning and testing of the entire system on-site;
- preparation of the complete as-built documentation for the fire alarm system;
- approval of completed works by specialists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine;
- handover of the system to the client or representatives of the operating organization.
